Our retreats have taught me the importance of silence, solitude, and prayer.  I've learned that as a minister one of my tasks is not to develop more programs that add to everyone's already busy schedule, but rather to help people become less busy.  The only way I can reach such goals is by first understanding for myself what it means to be in silence and spend time with God--both away, and within, the daily activities of life.
